Collector care
Collector deck condition guide
What sealed, opened, dinged, displayed, and handled condition means when buying premium playing cards.
Quick answer
Condition matters because collectors care about the tuck box, seal, corners, wrap, and whether the deck has been opened or handled.
Sealed means the deck has not been opened.
For most collectors, sealed condition means the wrap and seal are intact. This is the cleanest choice for gifts and display collections.
Box condition matters.
Corner dings, crushed edges, scratches, and seal damage can affect collector appeal even if the cards inside are untouched.
Opened does not mean ruined.
Opened decks can still be excellent for play, magic, cardistry, and enjoying the artwork. The right condition depends on the reason for buying.
